AWLQ introduces Golden Hearts™ Program to Odyssey

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming the Animal Welfare League Queensland (AWLQ) to Odyssey to learn about their Golden Hearts™ Program. This unique program has been designed to break down the barriers that stand in the way of senior people owning pets. It helps make pet ownership as stress-free as possible and gives those aged 65 and older the peace of mind and support they need to enjoy the many benefits of animal companionship.

Golden Hearts™ supports its members with emergency foster care of their pets if they have to go into the hospital, and members can also receive 50 percent off annual vaccinations through AWLQ Community Vet Clinics, plus 10 percent off all other vet services. In addition, the program also supports older people who need to transition into aged care that does not allow pets and try to match the pet with a loving new home in a similar environment.

Golden Hearts™ also has annual social events where members enjoy the company of like-minded people. It’s free to join and support seniors through every step of pet ownership, whether they adopted their pet through the AWLQ or not.
