Cycling adventure at Paradise Point

10 June, 2022

Our residents recently embarked on an epic cycling adventure with non-for-profit charity Cycling Without Age along with acclaimed Paradise Point cycle path and 7 News Gold Coast came along to capture the story.

Rugged up for a brisk and bright morning, residents travelled via Trishaw e-bikes and enjoyed taking in the sights of the Coomera River before returning along the mangrove boardwalk and under the Sovereign Island Bridge.

Cycling Without Age offers a fun and safe way seniors to enjoy the sunshine and feel the ocean breeze blowing through their hair.

There’s never a dull moment at Odyssey and we’re always seeking to offer an ever-changing, packed calendar of entertainment and outings to ensure our residents remain engaged, active and a part of the community.

Numerous scientific studies show that enriching people’s everyday environment with stimulating activities and social engagement has several psychological and cognitive benefits, especially for the elderly.

A big thanks to Cycling Without Age Community Captain Wayne Sticher and all the Cycling Without Age volunteers who made the morning memorable and possible!

After the cycling adventure, Odyssey residents and Cycling Without Age volunteers enjoyed lunch and coffee in the Paradise Point Parklands and rehashed all the wonderful sights they saw along the way.
