Odyssey’s third community gets green light
15 August, 2025
As reported by Gold Coast Bulletin, Australian Ageing Agenda and The Source, Odyssey has received development approval for a third community. Located on a 4,639sqm vacant holding at 8 Marina Quays Boulevard, Odyssey Hope Island will feature sweeping water views, premium amenities and a highly personalised approach to care that covers every stage of later life. The project will include a combination of 188 one, two, and three bedroom apartments across a 13-level dual tower, with the top floor reserved for a limited collection of penthouses.

Odyssey founder Phil Usher says receiving the green light for the Hope Island community is a significant milestone and a positive step forward.
“We’re creating communities where seniors don’t need to compromise, and this builds on what Odyssey has always set out to do, which is to create a brighter future for ageing Australians,” says Mr Usher. “There will be numerous features that will generate excitement and given this location has strong connections to the golfing lifestyle, we’ve incorporated several elements we believe people will be very pleased about. For local retirees already enjoying life in luxury retirement villages, it will be reassuring to know that when the next stage of life arrives, Odyssey will be there to provide the kind of care and support that respects their lifestyle and preferences.”
The community will include an on-site putting green with both open-air and covered sections, a virtual driving range and a 19th hole lounge for residents to enjoy afterwards. Hope Island Odyssey will include a dedicated wellness hub with an on-site doctor surgery for when life take difficult turns, a hairdresser, a luxurious lobby with reception and concierge services available seven days a week, extensive gardens and much more. The community has been designed to reflect what today’s seniors value most which is a balance of personalised care, vibrant lifestyle, and the comfort of home.
Residents will also be able to enjoy their own exclusive coffee shop, along with a boutique ground-level precinct that will be shared with the wider community and include commercial vendors, with tenancies yet to be finalised. Located at 8 Marina Quays Boulevard, Odyssey Hope Island is ideally positioned within walking distance of a newly refurbished tavern and sits directly beside a major shopping centre, which can be safely accessed via a pedestrian crossing. A dedicated shuttle service will run between Odyssey’s communities, connecting the flagship Robina location, which opened in 2020 and the upcoming Chevron Island community, set for completion in early 2026.
